hurricane katrina sucks. lately after watching the news i just want to go there and help. i want to not worry about school and drive there and help pick up the peaces. join an organization there that is going to help clean up these cities and help rebuild it all. i see people where their houses used to be just picking up the wood. i want to go do that. i am tired of people blaming everyone else on what is happening. and why it took so long. i wish those people would shut their mouths and lend a helping hand. donating money is awesome, but i just really want to be there. ive been wanting to go volunteer at the shelters around texas, but everyone keeps telling me that it is unsafe. that the people that go help are getting sexually assaulted and stuff like that. i am just so tired of people talking and talking. DO SOMETHING. worry about something else than yourselves. i have to go do homework right now. it seems like i could be doing so much more than reading about helping people in my social work books.
