525,600

im a little (slash extremely) obsessed with rent and i was at my internship today in the middle of a session with two fourth grade boys...and a teacher walked by and asked one of them a question and his answer was (in a singing voice) "525,600 laaaAAAPSss". i loved it! the music teacher at the school teaches the song 'seasons of love' and i hear them singing it almost every day. have i mentioned i love it? its a little crazy that they are letting elementary age students sing a song from rent though.

rent is closing, the last show is on june 1st. sad. atleast i have seen it three times AND saw it with the original mark and roger (i sound just like trent)...but i want to see it again, maybe more than once. i would love to be at the last show.

moving on. today when i was riding the train home, a guy walked in the car and started talking loudly, which usually means hes about to ask for money/food. he announced that hes a single father and walked through the train with his three kids and sat down. one, maybe two of them were teenagers and the other was young, prob like 8 or 9? they started singing a song, the dad was playing a guitar, one kid had a tamborine, one kid had a drum...the little one just sang. well, they all sang. anyway, it was actually a good song, but their singing was really bad. i was not sure how i felt about it. i was mad at the dad for forcing his kids to go beg/sing for money on the train with him. it was like 4:30ish, so they were just out of school for about and hour, prob exhausted already. but then i thought that atleast the kids were not at home alone after school when their only parent was at work. and they didnt seem to be having that bad of a time with their "singing". if you can even call it that. i would have been more bothered if their singing was good. i would have felt like i needed to give them something. its hard to de-sensitize yourself, but lovely ny will do that to you.

also, there is nothing like a man stopping right infront of you, blowing a snot rocket, and then continuing on his way as if nothing happened...in the middle of penn station.
