...

my french roommate has a boyfriend from australia.
my vietnamese roommate has a boyfriend that is american.
i have a boyfriend that is nonexistent.

awesome.

dalila

i have different passwords for every single thing that i log onto. i probably use six different passwords a day. more when i log on to something randowm. i tried to fix this problem by making one password for everything, but there are different restrictions....blah. and i cant change the password to my docdru email because the privacy question i used is something i created in 8TH GRADE. when i first got this email.

i have never been a clumsy person. i trip randomly and sometimes have accidents...but lately i have had a lot of bad things almost happen. i keep knocking things over that are made of glass and catching them at the last second. i was walking down the street today in heels and one of them just came completely off my foot. it flew off and i ended up stepping on it and saying a cuss word very loudly. i love drawing attention to myself when i do something stupid. especially when i am already in a bad mood.

i love listening to dalila. i dont know how to spell her name. i used to think she was cheesy, but she really seems to care about these people that call in to dedicate songs. and she plays really good 80's and early 90's slow jams.

i think im going to the beach in new jersey on saturday. we will see how that goes.

28

my vietnamese roommate is 28. i thought the oldest she could be was 21. shes tiny and dresses like a teenager. she was showing me these shirts her boyfriends mom bought for her...she kept saying, i just think they are old looking. i said, well how old are you. i really cant believe shes 28. anyway, thats all. we might go with the other roommate on saturday to eat vietnamese food, if i dont go to the beach. could be interesting.

new york peeing

haha. i forgot. when we were walking from the wrong side of morningside park to the right side...there was a guy peeing on the street. in broad daylight. libby was a little freaked out and couldnt believe it. that wasnt my first time to see that. i have also seen a guy poop during the day. on the street...by a gas station.

i have heard more things than i ever though possible that should be on overheard in ny. its amazing how people feel so comfortable talking across you on the train. i still feel a little uncomf having conversations when people are a foot away at a restaurant or on the subway.

the girl sitting next to me on the 1 train: i have hepatitus..but not hepatitus C!

presidente

i bought a six pack of beer tonight that cost almost 12 dollars. that is uncalled for. i wanted bud select, they didnt have it...then i saw the beer i fell in love with in puerto rico (presidente) and decided to get it. i asked the guy at the cashier if he was sure that was how much it cost. cruisazy.

i cant find a job. it sucks. i applied for the perfect job today. it is tutoring kids in harlem for the summer. spectacular pay and i have a lot of experience so i figure they should call me soon for an interview. one can only hope. we will see if they call tomorrow. i had to write my first real cover letter.

i had a good weekend after a pretty boring week. i spent last week looking for jobs, cleaning up my room after my mom left, and trying to make myself go to sleep before 4am so that i dont sleep too late. i finished the glass castle. it was probably the best book ive ever read. i went running a couple of times in riverside park. i always end up sitting on a bench watching the soccer games that are going on at the fields down there. i miss playing soccer. i love all of the dogs in the city. i miss lucy more than anything! seriously.

my roommates are from france and vietnam. i went with the french one on saturday to walk across the brooklyn bridge and all around downtown brooklyn. it was beautiful. we saw 3 bridal parties taking pictures at the promenade with the manhattan skyline in the back. the neighborhoods down there are so pretty and quiet. i really wand to live there. there was a dog store that had dog purses that looked like my car...they didnt have a blue one though.

i went out saturday night with a girl i met through kurt. he was out of town. we had a great time!! she is a really fun girl. i spent all of sunday with her too. we went to brunch at my favorite place and went to lay out at central park. she loves gilmore girls almost as much as me and she cares about stupid celebrity things that most people dont talk about on a regular basis. she works in fashion and has a crazy life. she came up to my apt so that i could change for the park, and...i took us on the wrong train! we had to walk around morningside park...a place that i have never walked through. i have only taken a cab through there. it was an experience. i wasnt scared or anything, it is just amazing how different it is on the west side of morningside park where i live. this is the way i came in with my dad and fam when i moved here. i thought it was pretty funny because it seems pretty scary until you make the turn around morningside park and then its the columbia area. i bet they were worried.

i have to say that i look good for 4am.

i know what i am buying my sister for her birthday. especially if she comes to visit me.

ok. going to read. bye.

im reading 'the glass castle'. it is a really good book...i like it because it is real and i like how she writes. i am enjoying it so much that i am having a hard time finishing it. i dont want it to end! i read it in central park by the bow bridge, watching the row boats.

i was going to write more, but im not in the mood anymore...

perfect body

just when i think this city is so beautiful and mostly safe...a grown man starts screaming in a sobbing women's face. i have seen a fist fight in union square park and a few altercations on the subway. i get cat calls when i walk to the train stop at the edge of harlem...such as comments like 'perfect body' (from a grumbling man) and 'hey beautiful' (from a guy giving me a stare down). i decided i dont mind walking the 5 extra blocks or so to get on the train near columbia. as soon as my blisters go away, i will be able to break in my cute shoes.

i have no music because i cant figure out how to get songs from my ipod onto my computer, so i bought a beatles cd at a music store on my way home. lucy in the sky with diamonds is on it. i miss my dog so much. its like leaving your daughter in a different state and hoping she doesnt forget about you. anyway, its nice having some music to listen to. and my mom is bringing every cd i own with her. she gets here wednesday.

i have been looking for the smallest park in nyc because i saw it on the movie little manhattan. i accidentally walked by it today and was so excited when i found it. it is on 71st btwn broadway and west end. sept....(something) uno. its very beautiful. im going to walk by it on purpose sometime soon and check it out.

tomorrow is an orientation thing and then im going to the museum mile festival with jamie. a girl i met through kurt also invited me to go to it with her, but i already have plans with jamie.

the end.

p.s. im sick. i need drugs.

this is what happens to 12 year olds when they walk too much...

where for art thou romeo

yesterday i went to jamie smiths apt. my old bff. she lives in the nicest apt i have ever seen. she lives downtown a block from my favorite store in soho. we went to see shakespeare in the park. it is an outdoor theatre in central park where they have free shows everynight. it was really fun, i love things like that. she said she has always wanted to go, but hasnt had anyone to go with her. she is leaving in a few weeks to go back to china, i wish she would be here because she is a good friend and familiar face to go do fun things with. whatev, i will just have to wait until she gets back. she gave me these 'candies' that she brought back from china. she calls them her medicine. they are called candies but i think they really are cough drops...anyway they tasted good. the nurse in the play last night was an actress that i recognized from tv shows and movies... this is her. camryn manheim...

the end. i want some pizza. i havent been eating very much.

fate

i took this picture last year when i was here for my sowk class. this picture was taken from a balcony at the columbia school of social work building. i had put this picture on facebook and tagged the red building on the corner as 'my future residence'. close! only about 10 steps away is my current residence. i think thats pretty crazy. the street with the red car on it is 122nd and the street with a lot of cars on it is amsterdam. must be fate. the end.

i took the day off today from being a tour guide. i needed some sleep! went to the grocery store, got started on my unpacking, and chatted a little with one of the roomies. the fam stopped by around dinner time to bring me a tv! and help me set it up. then went to dinner at a place that i would like to go back to, or order to go. they are filming a tv show on my street right now. my street, 122nd, is the only one that is blocked off. so special. it is a tv show called damages, on the fx channel. i think that is pretty neat. glenn close is in the show. i saw the trailers today when i was walking to the grocery store and they had names posted on each door, one of them was lucy. sad. anyway, the show premieres at the end of july. watch it, and think of me.

the fam is leaving manana, but they wanted to go to the top of the empire state building before they leave. ive never been up there, so im going to meet them at their 'condo' in the early morn.

today sounds like a pretty boring day. but im in ny. so who cares!
